Number one tip....
Number one tip....
Sharp hooks! When you think they're sharp enough, hit em with the file again. I'm obsessed with keeping sharp hooks.

If fishing from a boat the #1 top tip is to ALWAYS put the plug in BEFORE launching the vessel.

Re: Number one tip....
In order of importance:
1. Go fishing. Though no scientific studies have been done on the subject yet, I'm reasonably confident that any such studies would prove that no one has actually ever caught a fish on the InterWebz.
2. Keep your line in the water while you're out there. Just like with the InterWebz, you can't catch fish if you don't have your line in the water.
3. Fish where there are fish. Duh.
4. Use at least decent gear...that includes good and sharp hooks. I'm lazy when it comes to sharpening hooks, I just replace them all the time if they get dinged. Luckily I know where to get quality hooks at a good price
5. Fish as often as you can. You'll get better at it, and it correlates well with #1 and #2.
If you do all those things, then the rest is just details... but as they say, the Devil is in the Details...but you'll have to figure those out yourself on whatever particular fishery you're doing.
Fish on...
