It should I believe they copied Folbes :09: Compare the two side by side and you won't believe how much smoother the Folbes are.

I have a pair and they work fairly well, but I like the scotty's better.

Scotty's are not quit the same, but you can just grab and pull back and the rod comes right out of the holder: http://www.scotty.com/fishing-gear-equipment/rod-holders/striker.htm

ive got some of those scottys up for sale right now, these cabala holders are totally different, i use these in place of the rod holders that are hooked to the downrigger boom, grab the pole and the holder pivots towards you and pull it out, watch the video
