PRIVATE MESSAGES: By, Big Daddy


A message concerning PRIVATE MESSAGES to all current and former Gamefishin.com members.

It has come to my attention, once again, that many current and former members of this great site are under the impression that Private Messages can be read by all of the Mods and/or Admins.

This is simply not true.

This board, LIKE ALL OTHER BOARDS, allow the Site Owner access to all areas of the board. This position on the board is known as a “Founder.”

The “Founder” IS NOT always the creator of the site but instead is the ONE person that can administer all aspects of the site.

All sites, to my knowledge, have a “Founder” status.

I AM THE ONLY PERSON LISTED AS A “FOUNDER” ON THIS SITE…….PERIOD

I have no desire to read any of your private messages.

My commitment to the members and advertisers of this site is that private messages WILL NOT be read, nor made public, by me EVER, except in the very unlikely circumstance that a law enforcement agency would request copies of such messages via a subpoena.

People that know me can vouch for my resolve in regards to this commitment to all of you.

I hope everyone can get past this NON ISSUE.

I dont doubt that most people wouldn't read PM's, both boater and Big D included. BUT, I know for a FACT that Hook was on a regular basis. I also remember many times that he would flat out post a private message someone sent him when they pissed him off. Glad to hear that he plans on changing that. I wonder what brought that up?

I beleave that bruce would get into your 'PM's' and I beleave that brucy would give his closes buddy 'MODS' that power just to see who was talk about them, bruce is that type of person. I also beleave that Big_Daddy is a stand up guy and would not sink that low and I also think that Randy would not let any one else snoop to that level either! I think in time GamsFishin will start working it way up the positive ladder, how far it climes will depend on the poeple there. Some day I may go back, but at this point I'm not seeing much from the origanal people and don't know many of the new ones, time will tell.

the "LIKE OTHER BOARDS" part is wrong, i dont own this site like he owns that site, this is a free forum and the only way i could read peoples p-m`s is to contact the people who own this board

big daddy is very much a stand up guy. As RD said it is going to take time for the site to regain any credibility though

I still haven't tried to log in.. dont even know if my account has been reactivated or not. Not sure what he intends to do about all of those banned. Not really all that concerned either...

Now that I can come clean and not get booted by Hook. (home BD wont boot me) I know for a fact that Hook read PM's. He many times would PM me right after I would PM or recieve a PM from another member with anything that Hook felt was not being true to my dedication to him and his site. He would "QUOTE" Pms that many of you here PM;d to me.

He was a paranoid person and I wish him well, however it was very rude to do that . Long live GF and Big Daddy!

Doc. had trouble running the site when he had too many beers in him. When he was sober he was ok and a lot of fun. But after he had a few in him he liked to do crazy shit and would back himself into a corner as a result...A lot of the petty crap that he got into with you folks was just a result of him being intoxicated and going on gf and getting caught up and overwhelmed with the whole activities and people on the site...It was unbelievable at times the amount of crap that was going on at once. Two or more members would get into a dispute over a opinion on a fishing rod or a fishing lure and he would get stuck in the middle of that at times. Or some person would sell something and scam on the buyer or vise versa and he would be called upon to referee arguments like this..it was quite a juggling act for him. Any of us here would have made many mistakes too if we were in the same position...It would blow your mind on the amount of times people would try to scam on him and the site or deliberatly try to cause trouble. Just because they were jelous of envious of somebody. Lots of times people just wanted to be an asshole....and beleive me if you want to get into being the biggest asshole contest with Dr. Hook your going to loose.

While I dont doubt you on what you've said, I dont think many of us would habitually read peoples PM's, or go off in paranoid tantrums banning not only the person he was worried about, but anyone they were friends with at the time. Sounds like substance issues and running a board dont mix.

BTW - We didn't lose the biggest asshole contest with him.. He couldn't shut us up over here... and it drove (drives)him crazy.

Hopefully, Big D can clean up the mess... either way, boater has made a nice place to hang out here, very minimal moderation, and even with the dreaded bashing forum people are respectful to each other.

I agree, reading pm's was a big mistake.

thanks, i just want an old fashioned type board and not some product pimping place

the only way that i can read anyones p-m`s is to change your password and log in as you, the screen i do that on has a place for a new password and a confirm new password and both of them are blank just like in your profile where you can change your password and if i did change your password you would not be able to log in because you would have a new password, i do not own this board but the actual owners of this forum can read p-m`s but it would take legal action to read them
