rule change ? single-pointed barbless hooks on columbia
http://wdfw.wa.gov/fish/regs/rule_proposals/sportfishing_rule_proposals_2010-12.pdf
Freshwater Gear Rules
#31. Columbia River Salmon and Steelhead– Single-Point Barbless
Hooks
Proposal: This proposal would retain the anti-snagging rule but would also require anglers to use
single-pointed barbless hooks (regardless of gear type) when fishing for salmon and steelhead in the
Columbia River from the mouth (Buoy 10) to McNary Dam.
Explanation: Neither the current anti-snagging rule, in effect for anglers fishing for salmon or
steelhead in the Columbia River from Bonneville Dam to McNary Dam, nor the proposed revision of
the anti-snagging rule require the use of barbless hooks, and both rules also allow the use of multiplepoint
hooks in some instances. This proposal would require single point barbless hooks whenever
fishing for salmon or steelhead in the Columbia River, from the mouth to McNary Dam, allowing
easier release of any fish not retained.

Re: rule change ? single-pointed barbless hooks on columbia
shouldnt this reduce our release mortality rate ??, or will it be another rule where we gain nothing ?
Re: rule change ? single-pointed barbless hooks on columbia
And these dipshits are same dipshits that keep telling the sport fisher that we can't catch enough "hatchery fish" from entering our rivers
I wonder why we can't catch enough of them :140:
Maybe hook and release will help even more :140:
They can't have it both ways!
