Epic weekend with Epidemic and Jr at Sekiu

Post by ChuckS on 2nd August 2009, 5:05 pm

What else can I say. Saw Mayfly and his dad near mussolini rock playing out a big king. For the weekend we boated almost 100 fish. Tons of nice native silvers and Junior took it home with this 25lb king that put on a clinic with runs. Good times, great food and so many damn fish I am exhausted. Water was horrible until we pulled out today when it went dead calm and the skies finally cleared of fog after 2 days of GPS navigation. Funniest thing is people were whining about the amount of humpies and out of almost 100 fish to the boat, only about 10 were humps ... most were nice big native silvers that were fun to wrestle.

Too many highlites to note but hitting one on the 8wt fly rod, Epi's monster native king and the numerous 8 - 12 native silvers tell me we are gonna have a great season here this year. I'm fired up.

Ace hi's with the glow beads between the hooks kicked em all weekend long. More later......

One proud kid:

Mayfly and Dad playing out a pig of their own:

Epidemic playing one of MANY:

:32:

Would have taken more pictures but quite honestly ... the boat was simply too busy. What a cool problem to have :92:

Go get em'

Great report Chuck! some fine fishing up there for sure. Wanted to go up there today, but the wife had a meeting this afternoon and we couldn't get away....along with no dog friendly motels had a room for us on such short notice. Maybe next year. I'm fishing local tomorrow a.m. Redondo it is. Gawd, your son has grown up! he's taller than you now? lol!
