Depoe Bay Oregon - Tuna & Halibut

Post by ChuckS on 10th August 2009, 6:17 am

Pretty awesome weekend. Friend invited Jr and I to come visit him in Depoe for some tuna and salmon. Left the harbor and the water 41 miles out was amazing...

Landed my first tuna and it was kisses all around

Junior has one on, Kevin goes to hit it with the gaff and swing and amiss tail shot didnt do much other than tick the fish off ...

lol!

Finally after some long runs Junior lands his own tuna and smiles were to be had

What day! Full of CARNAGE on the boat :32:

Everyone eventually got in on the act

some of the bounty at the house cleaning station :60:

So with tuna under our belt we decided to hit the salmon as the limit is 3 right now ... man did we hit a ton of salmon ... Rorys son Rick with a pretty coho

Bounty....

I wanna retire so I can do this everyday :103: and I m ready to go back

Sounds like you guys had a great time and you caught fish! Nice weather, flat water, fish making 100 yard runs, Wow!

Thanks for the report Chuck.

Heh Heh,

I made a stupid dumb tired mistake last night. I meant to put some loins in the freezer for bbquing. Too the rest to the canner tonight and came home to realize it was all there.

DOH.

Not sure of the weight but I am gonna have plenty of canned tuna ...

Take lots of pix. I haven't been to Montana in a long time. I miss those trips.
