Re: Let's see them.....
i wish. good size but the hull could be a little deeper and wish that it had a camper top that was taller and longer, like all the way to the back :35: Id like to make some sorta clear enclosure for the open bow because thats where the kids like to hang out.ChuckS wrote:That boat has sekiu and neah bay written all over it.

Re: Let's see them.....
never been there excet in a huge yaght, i have been told that in a matter of minutes that you get screwed and not get back across the bar and that concerned me. I know that last year at the end of the season in MA11 we got hit one day with 5' white caps and that shit scared me
we were launching the boat in the air over them
man did i wish there were seatbelts hahahha

Re: Let's see them.....
There's no bar at Neah or Sekiu KC. Just wide open water. The afternoon winds can come up pretty good... but it'd have to be blowin' awful hard to stop you from fishing inside the Straits in that boat. Fog is a bigger concern so make sure you have GPS or a good compass at least.
Like Chuck, I used to take my little 14' Smokercraft to Sekiu and Neah all the time. I had that sucker 7 miles west of Tatoosh Island once in the open Pacific. Of course I had GPS and marine VHF radio and the ocean looked like a lake... but I never felt unsafe.
Chuck - I run my 10 degree Super Vee over to PNP and Jeff Head all the time during the summer.

Oh i think the posts and stories were referring to Westport. Is there a bar there?

Re: Let's see them.....
Yes! And it CAN get ugly on a strong ebb tide mixed with a westerly wind! If you watch the weather reports and plan your trip to cross the bar on a slack or incoming tide though... it can be pretty mellow. You can follow the other boats out as well and fish near them for safety. The charters usually know where the fish are.
