Post by 9/0NASTY on 28th May 2009, 8:55 am

Is anyone running 2 lowrances out there? I just got the new HDS-5 and the navico expansion port to run 2 of them at the same time. the HDS is just a fish finder and that is it, The other is and LMS 337c df just wondering how much of an ass pain it is to hook them up.

Good luck, no idea how to hook up 2, do they run off the same transducer?

I don't get any fishing gear at the exchange that place is a joke for that kind of stuff, here is where I got the sounder they are 100 cheaper than cabelas or anywhere else. http://www.defender.com/

The fish finders are going to be on the same transducer, both finders are lowerance so they should work through a navico expansion port with an eithernet cable! I hope, I spent 45 min on hold with lowrance yesterday to get to talk to some dumb ass that only read me the instructions off the net. They had absolutely no idea probably what a fish finder was. I really do hate lowrance customer service. So anyway if anyone has done this some info would be good.

You could have special ordered just about anything for your boat though the exchange. I bought an extra Lowrance 111 and 2 Scotty 1106's early last year. Saved just over $450 on the Lowrance and $200 on the dr's NO TAX plus FREE SHIPPING to the house.. I will upgrade to the 113hd after the summer prices go down.

The Exchange has a great special order program though the vendors. A list of vendors is on their website. Even if the exchange doesn't have a specific item or vendor ask them anyways... The customer service rep HAS TO ask "the powers that be" This may take a few days for a response, but they will call back. If it is a big ticket item, rest assurd they will take care of you. The last big ticket item I bought this way was my 25HP John Deere riding mower. Saved $300 more than Home Depot's sale price.. again no tax, but I had to drive to McChord to pick it up. Figured I saved roughly $800 on that deal.

I am going to see if I can get them to order a new kicker for me. Will let you know how that goes.

I am currently working on a price for a bulk order of Maxima line to see if I can save on the shipping cost since Maxima rakes across the keel on shipping ($18.00 per spool).
