96 chev z-28

Post by mics on 29th November 2008, 12:11 am

im having trouble trying to round up an assembly.can you figure, cheve tied the heater hoses on the back end,of 2 metal pipes, the 6 inches of heater hose are swedged on. the metal pipes about 3 ft in lenth run along the engine,of course a high heat area, exhust manifolds, then on the front end ,more swedged hose that run to the thermostat housing and the intake manifold and the lower radiator hose.so for 152.20 i could buy this assy and install it,except they dont have any, they are back ordered ,but nobody can or will give you a date to pick it up after you pay for it. so in the mean time just what in heck do you do.over the last 2 weeks i have been stuck at nite twice with one or the hoses leaking becuase they are old and rotton.does any body know of a shop that might be able to swegde a hose on a pipe.or i was thinkin just take the hoses off,and just reg clamp on new ones.an american car that you cant get parts for .vent, vent thanks mic

hey boater ,naw, not it.if you were to take saw 2 -3ft lengths of say 1/2 pipe, butterfly clamp them together and then some how band a hoses to each end, thats what i got.what im thinking is to remove the hose and just use regular heater clamps over the rubber hose which is over the tube. it should work.i will try and post a picture when i get it out.only held in by one clamp at the point the are butterflfed to the sidewall. thanks anyway.i think i can just order the hoses. if was computor good i would post the pictiure that the parts guy gave me,but im not.2 ends go to the heater core aft firewall.on the outher end,one goes to the mainfold and one goes to the bottom raditor ,i think,
